Tall Goldenrod (Solidago altissima) volunteered in SunCurve three summers ago. First it was one stalk, then five or six, and now a dozen or more. The first one was about ten feet tall. Now I give them the Chelsea Chop in early June so they grow to only five to seven feet. Cutting Tall Goldenrod back makes each stem produce more stalks and thus more flower heads. Now most flowers are at eye height or just above so its easy to see the pollinators. In late September to early October, Tall Goldenrod is the most popular plant in the garden.
