We’re celebrating the Summer Solstice today. The Coneflowers are thriving in pots on the brick wall, up away from the Bunnies. The one below is so happy it has two faces!

Buttonbush Buds!
We always visit the Coastal Redwood on celestial holidays. While we were there today, I was overjoyed to notice that the Buttonbush is budding, getting ready to produce many flowers! This shrub is the focal point of the rain garden, but hadn’t bloomed for its first two years here.

Tree Frogs
We’re also celebrating much-needed rain here, over an inch and a half in three days. The Treefrogs join us, singing in the pond and climbing up the windows. This one walked back and forth across the window using his amazing clingy feet. What a wonderful world!
