Sun Curve is the sunniest part of the garden. It’s a quarter circle with a 15 foot radius edged with bricks between the driveway and street. It’s the home for many flowering native plants and some collector and family plants.

The Tall Goldenrod is indeed tall, about seven feet tall. It’s a top pollinator plant that volunteered to grow here.

Family Plants

The pink peonies are from Bruce’s mother’s garden.

Collector’s Plants

I-Beam Planters

Two of the three i-beam planters run parallel to the street a few feet into Sun Curve, discouraging visitors from walking through it, especially in the winter. My niece gave me the little aliens, which glow in the dark. The i-beam used to hold up the house near the patio.

Former Plants

When I moved here in 1988, the area had a pink crepe myrtle surrounded by scraggly lawn. Over the next 10 years, I added the brick border, a Lady Banks rose that grew gloriously through the crepe myrtle, and a Miss Kim lilac. Those are all gone now. In the fall of 2022, I added a Forest Pansy Redbud, but it didn’t thrive.
